SOLD 

Snuff bottle of baluster shape, small flaring neck. Blue decor of two dragons chasing the pearl, one dragon in the clouds and one below in waves, on faded white background. Four Chinese characters beneath base (Yong Zheng Nian Zhe). China, 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 2 3/4" (7 cm). Obvious signs of use and great age, some erosion,tiny chip at base, otherwise good condition.

Euros 140 

Snuff bottle of squarish shape, four sides, cylindrical neck, round base. Porcelain, with deep blue decor on white background of four different scenes showing several characters in a garden, each scene framed in floral design, the neck itself decorated with a geometric design. Four Chinese characters mark beneath (Qian Long Nian Zhe). China, early 19th century, probably earlier. Height: 2 3/4" (7 cm). Chips at base, glaze slightly eroded, otherwise good condition.

Snuff bottle of rounded shape, flat sides, a "tao tie" mask carved in relief on each shoulder. Well hollowed out caramel agate. Modern mottled grey stone stopper, bone spoon. China, 19th century. Height: 2 1/2" (6,4 cm). Extremely tiny chips at base, otherwise very good condition.

Snuff bottle of rounded shape, flat sides. Fine ruby colour Peking glass, carved on each side of a floral design. Silver and turquoise stopper (top missing), iron spoon. China, 19th century, maybe earlier. Height (without stopper): 2 1/4" (5,8 cm). Slight erosion all over, otherwise very good condition.

Small textile fragment of brown and beige colour, embroidered in the shape of stylized eagles in geometric frames. Peru, Pre-Columbian Period, Nazca Culture, Ca. 1000-500 B.C. Dimensions; length: around 10 1/2" (26,5 cm), width: around 6 5/8" (16,7 cm). A few stains, and partial damages on some eagles.

Euros 125 

A pair of belt plates, of square shape, concave on the obverse with a geometric design in relief. Reverse with traces of hooks for attachment to the belt. Bronze, with remnants of original gilding, fine green patina, slightly encrusted in some areas. Dimensions: width: 1 5/16" (3,2 cm); thickness: 1/8" (3 mm). The pair is encased in a box specially built to protect it. Very good condition.

Large face mask of rounded rectangular shape, round forehead, large pierced through eyes, large ears in relief, long nose, mouth open showing teeth, long chin. Wood, with black, partly encrusted patina. Remnants of animal hair glued with black resin under the nose and around the chin to represent a moustache and beard. White metal nailed to the teeth area. Large mask, of fierce expression, with protruding forehead and nose, and large, pierced through eyes, nostrils and mouth. The mask is covered with numerous small holes around the eyebrows, under the nose and around the chin, in which animal hair has been inserted and glued with wax. Euros 350 

Belt composed of three leather parts on which five gilt iron plates and a gilt iron buckle are affixed. The plates are nicely wrought to show a geometric and floral decor. They are also used as links, with loops, between the three parts and with the buckle. Tibet, 19th century, maybe earlier. Length: around 38" (around 95 cm). Obvious signs of use and great age, otherwise good condition. Old French collection, collected in the Himalayan region in the early seventies.
