A very fine 19th C. Tibetan "tsa tsa", representing Buddha in a posture of appeasement and protection, sitting on a lotus throne. Terracotta. Gilding on the front and sides, black pigment on the back. Height: 1 1/16" 2,8 cm). Excellent condition.

Small statue of Tibetan god Kubera, sitting at ease ("lila asana") on a lotus throne, holding a skull top with his right hand and the mangoose that spits jewels with his left hand. Bronze, with fine reddish-green patina. Traces of the original gilding in the recesses. Tibet, 17th century. Height: 1 1/2" (3,8 cm). Very good condition despite erosion and wear due to great age. Unusual partly gilt copper snuff bottle, its body with a relief design of the eight Buddhist symbols and a central geometric design with coral and turquoise inlays on each side. Long neck with geometric design and coral and turquoise inlays. Partly gilt copper spoon and stopper. Two loops on each shoulder. A chain joins the loops to the stopper. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 3 7/8" (9,7 cm). Very good condition.

Small ritual cup in the shape of a "kapala" (upper section of a skull) with, around its rim, a diademed deity head flanked by two skulls at the front and a skull at the back, the whole piece resting on an oval foot. Sutra book lock, cast in the shape of a bodhisattva sitting in "regal repose" posture, his hands resting on his hips, with a square loop on top and bottom for attachment. Both obverse and reverse are identical. Bronze, with dark-green patina. Tibet, 18th century, maybe older. Height: 1 7/8" (4,8 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Mask representing a fierce face, with slanted eyes, a wrinkled nose and an open mouth showing teeth. A circle in relief on its forehead may represent the third eye. Wood with very fine semi-glossy dark-brown patina. Himalayan Region, 19th century. Height: 9 1/2" (24 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand which enhances its strange beauty.
