Small statue of Lakshmi, standing on a circular flat base in "abhanga" posture, wearing a simple "dhoti", a diadem and jewellery, holding a lotus in her left hand and a small gift in her right hand. Bronze, fine reddish green patina. India, 18th century. Height: 3 1/2" (9 cm). Erosion all over, otherwise very good condition. Note: in the Hindu pantheon, Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and happiness, is the wife of Vishnu

Small statue of a Hindu goddess (maybe Lakshmi, the wife of Visnu), wearing tiara and dhoti and sitting, with her hands in appeasing posture. Bronze, dark-green patina in the recesses. India, 17th century, maybe earlier. Height: 3 5/8" (9,2 cm). Strong erosion due to its great age, otherwise good condition.
