Statue of Buddha Sakyamuni, in monk's robe, his hands in "bhumisparsa mudra", sitting on a double lotus throne. Wood, with remnants of lacquering and gilding. Burma, 18th century. Height: 12 1/4" (31 cm). The statue is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Old insect infestation on the base, erosion, otherwise very good condition.
