Small cylinder seal with carved design of two fighters facing each other and a cross-like symbol behind the character on the right side. Black stone. Mesopotamia, Neo-Assyrian Period, Ca 730~600 B.C. Height: 11/16" (1,8 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand on which a patinated plaster imprint of its design is affixed. Slight erosion, otherwise good condition.
Small vase of pear shape with a slightly protruding base. Blackened iron, silver inlaid arabic calligraphy with interlacing floral and geometric decor all over its body. Middle East, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 4 1/4" (11 cm). Inside slightly oxidized, otherwise very good condition. Ex. old French collection.
