Head of Buddha, his face reflecting a profound inner serenity. Marble, with signs of a long stay underground. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.). Height: 9" (23 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Several chips and dents, otherwise very good condition. Ex. old European collection. NOTE: the piece is quite heavy; we thus recommend to consult us on shipping costs.

Small vase with a long neck surmounting a semi-globular body, itself resting on a flaring foot. Ceramic, with light celadon colour, traces of brownish soil encrustations under the glaze in some areas. China, Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). Height: 5 3/4" (15 cm). Very good condition.

Statue of Amida Buddha (the Buddha of Meditation), in monk's robes, standing in appeasing posture on a high double lotus throne stand, backed by an aureola ("mandorla"). Wood, with numerous traces of the original gilding. The statue, the aureola and the stand were carved and are mounted separately, and are mounted together via tenons and mortises. Unusual face mask of elongated shape, round pierced through eyes, long and thin nose, open mouth in relief, small chin. Irregular holes around the rim. Wood, dark-brown semi glossy patina. Africa, Ivory Coast, Dan Peoples. Height: 9 5/8" (24,5 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Old insect infestation in some areas (no danger), old and local restoration at forehead and chin (barely visible), otherwise very good condition.

Small vase of baluster shape, with archaistic geometric design in relief on its body, and a dragon head shaped handle on each side. Bronze, with reddish-green patina. Statue of Buddha wearing diadem, in full regalia, his hands in didactic posture, sitting cross-legged on a double lotus throne. Wood, with large remnants of the original gilding. China, early Ming Dynasty (14th century), probably earlier. Height: 10 1/2" (26 cm). Several old accidents, but good condition considering the statue very old age.
