Face mask of rounded rectangular shape, with protruding large forehead, square pierced through eyes, thin long nose, square pierced through mouth showing teeth, short chin. Irregular holes around rim. Wood, beautiful semi-glossy patina. Eyes and mouth underlined with white pigments, the rest of the mask being coloured with a dark-brown pigment. Africa, R.D. A pair of flat and highly stylized statues of a standing male and a standing female, both with pointed cap with a loop for attachment on top, from which remnants of a chain are still hanging, coffee-bean eyes, scarifications on face, arms open and hands resting on hips, obvious genitalia and very small legs framed by some kind of garment. Unusual hermaphrodite figurine, in standing posture, typical Pende style head, large and long neck with a goitre, narrow shoulders, small breasts, arms alongside narrow torso but hands not touching hips, small male genitalia, bent legs resting on stylized feet. A small fabric belt is tied around the hips. Wood, brown glossy patina, except for the area around the eyes that has been kept clear. Face mask, hair, nose and ears carved in relief, the rest of the features deeply incised, except for the pierced-through mouth which gives the mask a simian expression. Wood, with fine dark-brown glossy patina. Africa, R.D. Congo, Ngbaka Peoples. Height: 10 1/2" (26,5 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Mask of typical shape, protruding forehead, relief eyebrows, pointed small nose, small ears, eyes wide open, scarifications, open mouth showing teeth. raffia coiffe with conical elements, raffia beard. Wood and raffia, with red, black and white pigments. Africa, R.D. Congo, Pende Peoples. Height (mask and coiffe): 14" (34 cm). Obvious signs of use and age, some erosion and chips, otherwise very good condition. As often happens, the mask has been repainted several times.

Anthropomorphic figure, with typically styled head and coiffe, a long neck and short, slightly bent legs resting on small feet. At mid level, a fabric pouch containing fetish material. Wood, with dark-brown semi-glossy patina, and stained and patinated fabric.
