Large wooden helmet mask, with stylized horns alongside the head, small ears, coffee-bean-shaped eyes, long triangular nose, mouth in relief. Statue of a standing male, head carved in detail, long and large neck, narrow shoulders, arms alongside torso, relief breasts, protruding abdomen, obvious genitalia, protruding buttocks, long bent legs, large stylized feet. Realistic face mask, pierced through eyes wide open, fine nose, pierced through mouth open and showing teeth, small chin. Wood, with remnants of polychrome pigments. Africa, R.D. Congo, Yombe peoples. Height: 10 1/2" (26 cm). Large chip under chin, erosion all over, otherwise very good condition. A rather unusual piece.

Very old "warka" mask, of elongated triangular shape, with relief forehead and eyes, very long nose, tiny mouth, ending in a pointed chin. Eyes are pierced through. Wood, with greyish patina.
