Feminine figure standing on a square base, with a pointed coiffe, her large realistic head with wide eyes, small ears, fine nose, open mouth showing teeth, with large shoulders, pointed breasts, protruding abdomen, hands holding small cylinders, short legs resting on very large feet. Statue of a standing male, head carved in detail, long and large neck, narrow shoulders, arms alongside torso, relief breasts, protruding abdomen, obvious genitalia, protruding buttocks, long bent legs, large stylized feet. Hard and heavy wood, brown patina with some encrustation. Africa, Burkina Faso, Lobi Peoples. Height: 29 1/2" (75 cm). Erosion all over and age cracks, otherwise very good condition. Limbless figure, its head wearing a large coiffe with metal horns nailed on top, a small face with a large forehead and large ears, surmounting a long and thick cylindrical neck, its torso covered with several pieces of fabric tied to it with numerous raffia ropes and old iron nails. Standing female figurine, highly stylized face, geometric large ears, narrow shoulders, protruding breasts, arms alongside long torso, slightly bent legs resting on small feet. Wood, with light-brown glossy patina. Africa, Burkina Faso, Bobo Fing Peoples. Height: 9 1/4" (23,5 cm). Erosion all over, left hand and feet chipped, age cracks, otherwise good condition. The piece is mounted on a custom wood stand. Ex. old French collection.

Female figure with typical coiffe, large oval eyes, small ears, triangular nose, open mouth showing teeth, cylindrical neck, muscular shoulders and arms, conical breasts, cylindrical abdomen with protruding navel, bent legs resting on small feet. A tenon at the lower back side was used to attach the figure to the reliquary box.
