Small textile fragment of brown and beige colour, embroidered in the shape of stylized eagles in geometric frames. Peru, Pre-Columbian Period, Nazca Culture, Ca. 1000-500 B.C. Dimensions; length: around 10 1/2" (26,5 cm), width: around 6 5/8" (16,7 cm). A few stains, and partial damages on some eagles.

Face mask carved in the shape of a smiling face wearing an official cap. Wood, with numerous superimposed layers of polychrome pigments. Remnants of a Chinese character on top of the cap. A series of tiny holes under the cheeks and on the chin suggest the former existence of a moustache and a beard, probably some animal hair. China, early 19th century, maybe older. Height: 9" (23 cm). Large mask, of fierce expression, with protruding forehead and nose, and large, pierced through eyes, nostrils and mouth. The mask is covered with numerous small holes around the eyebrows, under the nose and around the chin, in which animal hair has been inserted and glued with wax.
