Old oliphant, carved at its top in the shape of a king sitting cross-legged on a round stool and holding a scepter with both hands, surmounting two slaves in relief on each side, its back opening in the shape of a mouthpiece, and ending at its base in a large opening. Large and important vase, of bulbous body shape, surmounted by a narrow cylindrical neck, resting on a circular base. Porcelain, with whitish, slightly crackled, enamel nicely covered with an overall layer of sang-de-boeuf enamel. China, Qing Dynasty, 18th century. Height: 17 1/4" (43,5 cm). Tiny kiln defects on body, tiny chips around base, otherwise excellent condition.
