A 19th C. Tibetan "tsa tsa", representing Kubera, the Tibetan God of Wealth, holding his mongoose in his left hand and an umbrella in his right hand, sitting on a lotus throne. Terracotta. Gilding in front, red pigment on the rest of the amulet. Height: 1 1/4" (3,2 cm). Minute chips, otherwise very good condition.

Old oliphant, carved at its top in the shape of a king sitting cross-legged on a round stool and holding a scepter with both hands, surmounting two slaves in relief on each side, its back opening in the shape of a mouthpiece, and ending at its base in a large opening. Ivory, with a fine honey coloured patina. Africa, R.D. Congo, Bakongo Peoples, late 19th/early 20th century. Height: 11 1/4" (28,5 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. "Saranghi" (local name for a primitive violin), of elongated shape, ending with a stylized small human couple carved on its top. Wood, with dark-brown glossy patina. Himalayan Region, early 19th century. Height: 58 1/4" (71 cm). The saranghi is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Obvious signs of long use and great age, old insect infestation (no danger), otherwise good condition.

Large and important vase, of bulbous body shape, surmounted by a narrow cylindrical neck, resting on a circular base. Porcelain, with whitish, slightly crackled, enamel nicely covered with an overall layer of sang-de-boeuf enamel. China, Qing Dynasty, 18th century. Height: 17 1/4" (43,5 cm). Tiny kiln defects on body, tiny chips around base, otherwise excellent condition.

Small statue of a Zen master, in monk's robes, in praying posture, sitting cross-legged on an elevated rectangular platform. Lacquered and gilt wood. Japan, 19th century. Height: 4 6/8" (12 cm). Lacquering and gilding flaked in some areas, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: the statue may represent Nichiren-shonin (most probably), or Kobo-daishi, but we have not been able to identify it precisely.
