Very old statue of unknwon god, wearing formal robes and cap, sitting on a throne. Remnants of moustache and beard under nose and chin. Wood, with traces of the original gilding and painting. China, early Ming Dynasty, most probably earlier. Height: 11 1/4" (28,5 cm). Small chips in some areas, old insect infestation (no danger), otherwise good condition.

Semi-globular vase resting on ring base, with a stylized condor on each side and a bridge handle, its shoulders decorated with an incised geometric design. Terracotta, with black and red pigments. Costa Rica, Pre-Columbian Period, Ca. 800-1500 A.D. Height: 7 3/4" (19,5 cm). Obvious signs of great age, soil encrustations, very good condition.

Statue of the God of Medicine, in formal robes, standing on a squarish base and flanked by his two attributes, the lion and the dragon. Rectangular hole at the back to make room for a "votive box", lid missing but some votive documents still remaining. Wood, with remnants of lacquering and gilding. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Height: 9 1/2" (24 cm). Hands and dragon head missing, some flaking, otherwise good condition.

Unusual partly gilt copper snuff bottle, its body with a relief design of the eight Buddhist symbols and a central geometric design with coral and turquoise inlays on each side. Long neck with geometric design and coral and turquoise inlays. Partly gilt copper spoon and stopper. Two loops on each shoulder. A chain joins the loops to the stopper. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 3 7/8" (9,7 cm). Very good condition.

Theater mask representing the face of a Kaishan, "the god who opens the mountain", with small horns, protruding forehead, relief eyebrows, bulging eyes, big nose, cheeks in relief, open mouth showing tongue and fangs, protruding chin. Wood, with traces of polychrome pigments. China, 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 9 1/4" (23,5 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand.
