Lavishly decorated ink pot, resting on a flaring lotus base, with a Hindu deity in relief on each side, and a lizard in relief under the attachment loops, the neck and stopper themselves decorated with lotus and geometric design. A brass chain is attached to the ink pot. Bronze, with fine dark green patina in the recesses. Nepal, 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 4" (10 cm). Very good condition.

Statue of Bodhisattava Manjusri, in formal attire, wearing diadem, his hands in "abhaya/varada mudra" (posture of blessing, protection, compassion), his head slightly turned towards the left, sitting cross-legged on a large lotus throne. Small statue of a Buddhist monk, or "lohan" (Buddha's disciple), standing in praying posture. Bronze, with gilding on the face and hands of the statue. Reddish green patina. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Height: 4 1/2" (11,7 cm). The piece is resting on a plexi base. Several small casting defects (see photos), otherwise very good condition.
