Large "tsa tsa" mould engraved inside with a design representing Buddha in meditation posture. Bronze, with fine dark green patina. Tibet, early 19th century. Height: 3 1/16" (7,7 cm). Obvious signs of long use, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: A "tsa tsa" is an amulet generally made of clay which has been formed in a mould and which represents a Buddhist deity.

At the center, the decor is a king standing with a martial posture and holding a shield, with a large bird flying in front, and two medal like profiles of kings of which one is certainly Alexander the Great. The center decor is framed in eight medal like profiles of kings. The lotus throne itself is painted in a different color. Tibet, Ming Period (1368-1644). Height: 7 3/4" (19,7 cm). Tiny chips on base, otherwise very good condition.
