Very old mask with an elongated face, with moon and sun signs in relief on the forehead, small eyes, long nose, open mouth showing teeth. Wood, with encrusted patina. Nepal, 18th century. Height: 10 1/4" (26,2 cm). The mask is unmounted. Old accident from top to bottom restored locally a long time ago, otherwise good condition. Ex. old European collection.

Mask of a grotesque, his finely carved features showing a large smile. Wood, with dark-brown patina, traces of the original colouring. Himalayan Region, Monpa Sherdukpen ethnic group. Height: 7 6/8" (20 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Obvious signs of use and age, otherwise very good condition.

Very large mask representing the Hindu god Hanuman, one of the heroes of the Ramayana epic. Small ears, eyes in relief, long nose and upper jaw, open pierced through mouth showing teeth, large lower jaw. Two large holes at eye level to allow the bearer of the mask to see. Very old face mask with small forehead, long ears, triangular nose in relief, oval pierced through eyes, large pierced through mouth, long chin. Wood, with dark semi-glossy patina. Himalayan Region, early 18th century. Height: 10" (25 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Highly unusual mask, which has kept the original shape of the tree trunk from which it was carved.
