Ritual bell, with fine decoration of stylized lotuses on its body. Gilt bronze, with nice reddish green patina. Nepal, 17th century or earlier. Height: 5" (12,7 cm). The bell is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition.

Ritual spoon, its handle carved in the shape of a male ancestor wearing cap and bracelets on arms and legs. A very rare feature is that the ancestor is also wearing a Christian cross at the end of a long necklace. Indonesia, Flores Island. Height: 8 7/16" (21,5 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Old (restored) accident at the junction between the spoon and the handle, tiny chips, otherwise good condition. A truly rare piece.

Statue of Saint Joseph, in long robes with nice draping. Wood, fine brown patina. Europe, 18th century, maybe earlier. Height: 9 1/2" (24,2 cm). The statue is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Face partly chipped, right arm and left forearm missing, old insect infestations (no danger), otherwise good condition.

Statue of the Virgin Mary, wearing a long dress with fine draping, standing on a high pedestal. Originally, she probably was holding the Infant Jesus in her left arm, but this part is now missing. Likewise, her right forearm. Wood, with fine brown patina and traces of the original plastering used a support for a likely polychrome painting. Europe, 17th century. Height: 11 1/4" (28,5 cm). Face and pedestal partly chipped, otherwise good condition.

A pair of statues of Taoist dignitaries, in formal attire, sitting on a throne. They were holding some implements which are now missing. Wood, with remnants of polychrome painting. Leather ribbons attached to their caps. Votive boxes still sealed at their back. China, early 19th century. Height: 10" (25 cm). Good condition.

Shamanic face mask of oval shape, with minimalistic features. Wood, traces of black resin under the nose for attachment of a mustache made of animal hair (now missing). Nice dark patina. Head of Bhairava with a fierce expression, wearing a crown of skulls, with flying hair. A small opening in the mouth allowed the insertion of a pipe (now gone), through which consecrated beer was flowing. Two loops at the back for attachment. Wood, with traces of red ritual material. Nepal, 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 13" (33 cm). The head is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Very good condition.

Superbly cast amulet ("tsa tsa" in Tibetan language) mould and representing on top Buddha sitting on a lotus throne, surmounting two Bodhisattvas, one being Manjusri, the other Avalokiteshvara, both sitting on a lotus throne. A stupa is shown between the two Bodhisattvas. Bronze. Tibet, 19th century. Height: " 3/8" (8,6 cm). Very good condition.

Large funereal mirror, of circular shape, with a concentric decor in relief representing chimeras, mostly tiger-shaped but with claws as paws. This design is directly inspired from the decoration of antique Warring States Period funereal mirrors. Bronze, with fine green patina, with red color areas, a sign of great age. Very old mask of Defender of the Buddhist Faith, inspired from the God Mahakala, with a terrifying expression meant to ward off evil spirits. Wood, with nice slightly encrusted glossy dark patina. Himalayan Region, Bhutan or Tibet, 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 11" (28 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Very good condition. NOTE: Together with masks # 1-0761 and # 1-0762, this mask was acquired from an old American collection.

Wood, with traces of kaolin in the recesses. Himalayan Region, Bhutan or Tibet, 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 14 1/2" (38 cm). The mask is mounted on a custom wood stand. Old accidents, erosion, otherwise good condition. Provenance: Old American collection.
