Finely cast phurpa, showing, from top to bottom: three deitiy heads, then a "dorje", then a "makara" head swallowing snakes, surmounting the triple blade. Bronze, dark green patina in the recesses. Tibet, 18th century. Height: 8 1/16" (20,6 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Obvious signs of great age, otherwise good condition.

Old "phumbu" face mask, of typical triangular shape, with large and low lids, pointed nose, open mouth showing teeth and tiny ears. Wood, with large remnants of red, white and black pigments. Beautifully cast statue of a lama, or maybe an "arhat", in monk's robes, sitting in "bhadrasana" on a squarish throne, holding a small dragon in his hands, while the dragon itself holds the rope of a censer in its mouth. Gilt copper, the eyes and mouth themselves being nicely painted. The whole statue shows very fine details, in the folds of the robe, the dragon, the censer or the face. Tibet, 18th century. Statue of Buddha Vairocana, in princely attire, wearing a diadem on which a stylized Amithaba is showing in front, in didactic posture, sitting cross-legged on a double lotus throne. Votive box at the back, its lid missing. Lacquered and gilt wood. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Height: 14 1/4" (35,5 cm).
