Head of funerary statue or effigy, of minimalist shape. Weathered wood, with shell eyes. Indonesia, South Sulawesi, Toraja Peoples. Height: 12" (30 cm). The head is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Very good condition. NOTE 1: The Toraja have this particularly interesting tradition of carving in wood funerary images of the deceased. Red agate dome-shaped seal with an incised design of a bull wearing wings. Antique Mesopotamia. Height: 3/4" (2 cm). The seal is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand on which a patinated plaster imprint has been affixed. Good condition.

Statue of Kubera, the God of Wealth and Prosperity, wearing diadem and formal attire, sitting on a dais. The god holds the Buddhist umbrella in his right hand, while he holds the mongoose that spits the jewels in his left hand. The statue is made of gilt copper, with a nice green and reddish patina in the recesses. Tibet, 18th century. Height: 4 7/8" (12,3 cm). Very good condition.

A copper bowl with sliver inlaid design of five taoist symbols and lotus. The artist signature is beneath. A very unusual and fine piece, dating back to the early 19th century, maybe earlier. Head of a "lohan" (or "arhat" in sanscript), his face reflecting a tense, almost suffering, expression. Wood, with traces of its original plastering and colouring, and of some polychrome pigments on the eyebrows and in the mouth. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), maybe earlier. Height: 12 1/4" (31 cm). The head is unmounted. Obvious signs of great age, otherwise very good condition.
