Finely carved mask representing a mysterious character, probably a famous Buddhist pilgrim. The mask is made of wood painted with brown and black colors to underline the face features, hair, mustache and eyes. It seems not to be meant to be worn but to be installed inside a household, for worship or to protect against evil spirits. The mask comes from the Himalayan region. Its height: 24.5 cm. It is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition despite obvious signs of age.
