| Statue of The Buddha, His hands in "vitarka mudra" (preaching, or didactic, posture), wearing monk's robes and sitting cross-legged on a double lotus throne. Bronze, thick encrusted patina with some reddish areas (a sign of great age), traces of the original gilding in the recesses. China, early Ming Dynasty (1368~1644 A.D.). Height: 6 7/8" (17,5cm). Fine casting, nice details, (e.g. hands, robes), good condition. | |||||||||
