| Female "ibeji" figurine standing on a rounded base. Unusual proportions, with a long conical coiffe, a rather small head, long torso and arms, resting on very short legs and large feet. Small necklace made of tiny and old glass beads. Holes in middle of eyes which may have contained small metal inserts. Wood, with nice dark-brown patina and traces of red soil applied during rituals. Erosion all over due to manipulation for a long period, old infestation on coiffe (no danger), large chip at back of base, otherwise good condition. Height: 10 1/2" (26cm). An interesting piece, that differs from the classical ibeji twin statues. | |||||||
