| Anthropomorphic figure, with typically styled head and coiffe, a long neck and short, slightly bent legs resting on small feet. At mid level, a fabric pouch containing fetish material. Wood, with dark-brown semi-glossy patina, and stained and patinated fabric. The pouch had been opened at the back in what may have been an attempt at desacralizing the fetish figure, and thus part of its contents are gone. Africa, D.R. Congo (ex Zaire), Teke Peoples. Height: 15" (37,5 cm). Chips in some areas, otherwise good Condition. | |||||||
