| Small ritual cup in the shape of a "kapala" (upper section of a skull) with, around its rim, a diademed deity head flanked by two skulls at the front and a skull at the back, the whole piece resting on an oval foot. Bronze, with traces of greenish patina in the recesses. Tibet, 16th century. Dimensions: length: 3 3/16" (8,2 cm), height: 2 3/16" (5,5 cm). Obvious signs of use and great age (the piece has been cleaned many times during its long life), tiny hole at base of kapala, otherwise good condition. Unusual and rather rare piece. | |||||
