| Standing female figure, finely carved head with scarifications, broad shoulders, arms half raised, conical breasts, protruding abdomen, slightly bent legs resting on rather large feet. Wood, with thickly encrusted patina coming from sacrificial material. Africa, Burkina Faso, Bobo Fing Peoples. Height: 17 1/2" (44 cm). Both forearms have been locally restored a long time ago, with two holes drilled through the arms to affix a rope or raffia strap (one of the straps gone on the right arm). Obvious signs of use and age, otherwise very good condition. | |||||||||
