| Divination implement, called "katatora", an abstract figure with open rectangular element on rounded base surmounted by a stylized head with carved facial features and backswept coiffure. Hole beneath, maybe for attachment to mount, now gone. Wood, with thick glossy dark-brown patina. Africa, R.D. Congo, Luba Peoples. Height: 5 1/16" (13 cm). Obvious signs of use and great age, otherwise good condition. A rare piece. | ||||||||
