| Blowgun quiver, with a cylinder darts container made of bamboo, linked to its lid by a rope, and a kind of long hook (to attach the quiver to the hunter's sash) made of wood, with a fine decoration of a wild boar on its top. The hook is attached to the container with three finely woven wicker rings. This quiver is coming from Palawan Island, South West of the Philipino Archipelago, and belonged to a member of a tribe that is now protected by the Philipino Government. Height: 16 13/16" (around 42,5 cm). The piece is superbly mounted on a custom wood stand. Overall height with stand: 18 1/16" (around 46 cm). Obvious signs of use and age, some cracks, nice reddish-brown patina, otherwise very good condition. A very fine and attractive example of South-east Asian ethnographic art. | |||||
