| Lime box of semi-cylindrical shape, with embossed decor showing a stylized lotus on top of lid and geometric ring decor at four different levels. Silver, with fine darkish patina. Laos, 19th century. Height: 5 5/8" (14,5 cm). Remnants of lime inside. Obvious signs of use and age, several tiny dents in various areas, otherwise good condition. Note: lime was used for betel nut chewing, and implements related to this social ritual in ancient Asia were generally very fine, as they were the reflect of their owner's social status. | ||
