| Large face mask of rounded rectangular shape, round forehead, large pierced through eyes, large ears in relief, long nose, mouth open showing teeth, long chin. Wood, with black, partly encrusted patina. Remnants of animal hair glued with black resin under the nose and around the chin to represent a moustache and beard. White metal nailed to the teeth area. Asia, Himalayan Region, 19th century. Height: 13" (32,5 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Obvious signs of use and age, age cracks along nose, mouth and chin, old insect infestation (no major damage, no danger), otherwise good condition. | |||||||||||
