| Breastplate made of a large central shell surrounded by smaller shells on either side, the whole group attached to a textile narrow belt to the back of which numerous pairs of cauries are also attached. Papua New Guinea, Southern Highlands, early 20th century, maybe earlier. Length (belt): around 37" (92,5 cm). A few side shells maybe missing, otherwise very good condition.
