| Funereal mirror of round shape. Obverse with a relief design of chimeras and dragons, framed with geometric motive. Reverse is flat. Bronze, with nice encrusted red and green patina. China, Jin Dynasty (936-946 A. D.). Diameter; 5 1/4" (13,2 cm). Slight dent on the rim, otherwise very good condition. A fine piece. Note: a short-lived Barbarian dynasty, the Jin are said to be the founders of Peking. During their short history, their artists created fine ceramics of unusual yellow or green colour, and beautiful bronze mirrors with animal design. | |||||||||
