| Statue of the God of Medicine, in formal robes, standing on a squarish base and flanked by his two attributes, the lion and the dragon. Rectangular hole at the back to make room for a "votive box", lid missing but some votive documents still remaining. Wood, with remnants of lacquering and gilding. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Height: 9 1/2" (24 cm). Hands and dragon head missing, some flaking, otherwise good condition. | |||||||||
