| Small wood relief carved in the shape of a Hindu deity, wearing diadem, with four arms, sitting cross-legged on a lotus throne, in a niche surrounded by a stylized flaming aureola. Himalayan Region, 16th century, probably earlier. Height: 3 3/8" (8,5 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Obvious signs of great age, otherwise good condition. Note: this relief was certainly part of a larger architectural ornament. | |||||||||
