| Large wooden helmet mask, with stylized horns alongside the head, small ears, coffee-bean-shaped eyes, long triangular nose, mouth in relief. Brass nails along the nose. Under and around the bottom of the mask, a textile band is attached on which cowries, old glass beads and also animal hair (to represent a beard) are stitched. Africa, D.R. Congo (ex Zaire), Kuba Peoples. Height: 13 1/4" (33 cm). Beautiful dark-brown patina, obvious signs of use and age, otherwise very good condition. Ex. old French collection.
