| Statue of Buddha, standing and wearing a cape-like "sanghati" closely fitting his body, his head with the domed "usnisa" surmounted by a flaming finial, his hands in "abhaya/varada mudra" (appeasing posture, also showing compassion). Bronze with fine red and green patina. Traces of the original gilding. Thailand, 14th century. Height: 5 5/8" (14,5 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom bronze stand.
