| Relatively small mask representing a human face wearing an elaborate court hat. Wood, with darkish patina. China, Ming Dynasty (1388-1644). Height: 10 3/4" (27,5 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Obvious signs of use and great age, otherwise very good condition. Note: this rather rare kind of Chinese mask is not coming from minority groups. It was probably made by the same artist than mask no 1-0399, thus they could be considered as a pair and acquired as such. | ||||||||
