| A hollow molded pottery bust from a larger figure, wearing a large headdress. Angular face with expressive features, open toothy mouth. Opening at the back. Collection reference numbers on upper side of back. Terracotta, with soil encrustations. Mexico, Remojadas, Vera Cruz Culture, Ca. 700-900. Height: 5" (13 cm). The bust is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Some parts chipped, otherwise very good condition. Note: this piece was de-commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts. | |||||||||
