| Statue representing a "lohan" (Buddhist holy man), in monk's robes, his hands hidden in his sleeves, sitting in "bhadrasana" (so-called "european" seated posture). Wood, with remnants of the original lacquering. China, early Ming Dynasty Period (1368-1644), maybe earlier. Height: 8 1/4" (21 cm). The statue is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Obvious signs of use and age, right foot missing, otherwise good condition. | |||||||||
