| Important tea cup, its body and lid made of light green jade and almost totally covered with embossed silver decorated with Buddhist symbols and floral design. Tibet, early 17th century, maybe earlier. Height (total): 2 3/4" (7 cm), diameter (cup): 3 7/8" (9,9 cm). Obvious signs of long use and great age, some cracks in the jade, restoration on the jade part of the lid, otherwise very good condition. Ex. old French collection. Note: this rather rare piece must have belonged to a high ranking family or official. | |||||||||
