In its original blue box, the book is bound in red. Excellent condition, like new, except for the box which is slightly cracked at its top (repairable). Note 1: this very famous book, the result of a 16 year study of Buddhist art, is the first full-length publication concerning the stylistic evolution of the image casting traditions of Northern India, the Himalayas and Tibet, as well as those of China, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has become a basic reference in this vast domain of religious art, and a must for serious collectors, dealers as well as scholars. It is rare to find in the market.
