| Small statue of a Buddhist monk, or "lohan" (Buddha's disciple), standing in praying posture. Bronze, with gilding on the face and hands of the statue. Reddish green patina. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Height: 4 1/2" (11,7 cm). The piece is resting on a plexi base. Several small casting defects (see photos), otherwise very good condition. Note: the statue, probably representing one of the two companions of Buddha (Ananda and Kasyapa), was originally flanking a larger statue of Buddha. | ||||||||||||
