| Statue of Buddha Amithaba, in monk's robes, sitting cross-legged, his hands in meditative posture ("dhyana mudra"). Wood, with large remnants of superimposed polychrome pigments and gilding. China, 18th century. Height: 11 5/8" (29 cm). Very good condition despite small chips on hands and robe, and obvious other signs of great age. | |||||||||
