| Large puppet head representing the head of Garuda, the mythical bird, the vehicle of Vishnu, also a hero of the Ramayana epic. Wood, with remnants of polychrome pigments. Eyes made of red glass. A rope is attached to the top of the head to allow the pulling of a wood tongue. Burma, 19th century. Height: 11 1/2" (29 cm) The head is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand.
