| Small head of Buddha, its face reflecting a profound inner serenity. Stucco, with numerous soil encrustations. Pakistan, Gandhara Region, Graeco-Buddhist art, 1st to 3rd century A.D. Height: 6 1/4" (16 cm). The head is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Some small chips and erosion, local restoration on top of head ("usnisa", see photos), otherwise good condition. | |||||||||||||
