Finely cast belt hook, decorated on its top with a dragon head, and on its lower part with a coiled dragon with a peculiar tail. A knob on the back for attachement to a belt. Bronze, with nice slightly encrusted reddish green age patina. China, Warring States period. Height: 20.2 cm, a size which suggests that this belt hook may have been part of a suit of armor. The object is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition. Provenance: acquired in 1989 from a Paris reputed dealer specialising in Asian antiques. IMPORTANT NOTE: this object will be exported only to members of the European Community due to administrative difficulties elsewhere.
