Large circular plate beautifully and intricately decorated with concentric embossed designs, consisting in, on the front side, from the center to the rim: - in the center, a Citipati holding a skull in his left hand and a khatvangha in his right dancing on a lotus base and framed by a flaming mandorla, - a circle of tiny stylised Citipati, - a circle of skulls, - a wide circle containing two dragons facing the Flaming Pearl and two phoenixes below framing two deers facing the Wheel of the Law on a stand, this latter group itself surmounting a stylised Mount Sumeru, - another circle of stylised small Citipati, - finally, a circle of skulls, - at the rim, tiny rings. On the back side, at the center, an incised decor of a quadruple dorje. The front side of the plate is made of bronze, with traces of the original gilding. The back side of the plate is also made of bronze, with remnants of gilding. This plate is Tibetan and dates back to the end of the 19th century or the early 20th century. Its diameter is 39.5 cm. The plate condition is very good.
