Small four legged portable Buddhist altar with a statue of bearded Bodhisattva Padmapani standing on an elevated and stylized lotus throne and holding a gourd in his left hand. Gilt bronze with partly encrusted green patina. China, Wei Dynasty period (386-534 AD). Height: 3 5/16" (8,5 cm). Gilding partly missing in small areas, otherwise very good condition. Ex. old German collection.

A very fine mask of the esoteric "Nuo" theater, representing the character of Tudigong, the God of Cereals, wearing an official cap, his face illuminated by a large smile. Wood, with polychrome colors. China, early 19th century. Height: 11" (28 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Very good condition.

A very finely cast statue of Bodhisattva Manjusri wearing diadem and formal attire, holding a book in his left hand, his right hand in argumentative posture. Manjusri is sitting cross-legged on an elevated lotus throne resting on the back of a stylized lion, itself standing on a rounded base. Bronze with dark-green patina. Traces of an original lacquering and gilding. China, early Ming Dynasty. Height: 6 1/4" (16 cm). Tiny part of diadem missing, otherwise very good condition.

Antique temple banner consisting in a long sort of ribbon made of paper on which a series of religious scenes showing Taoist gods and chimeras are hand painted with polychrome pigments. The banner is around 10 m long by 27 cm high, and is affixed to a wood stick on both sides. The piece is signed Zheng Fa and dated Xian Feng 6 (1855). It is coming from the South West region of China, and was painted by an artist who was a member of the Yao ethnic minority...

Superb and well hollowed-out blue striped agate snuff bottle. The stopper is made of bronze, with a beautifully shaped coral top. The spoon is made of bronze. China, 19th Century. Height (without stopper): 2 1/8" (5,4 cm). Tiny chips on rim of neck and base, otherwise very good condition.

Small light celadon colored jade cup of classical shape. China, Ming Dynasty period. Height: 1 5/16" (3,3 cm). Traces of long stay underground (small stains), otherwise very good condition.

Fertility amulet carved in the shape of a male infant standing and holding a lotus flower. Ivory, with a fine patina. China, 18th century. Height: 2 1/8" (5,4 cm). The pice is nicely mounted on a custom plexi stand. Very good condition.

Statue of a taoist dignitary, in formal attire, standing on an elevated hexagonal base on which a relief representing a reclining animal is carved. Two votive boxes at the back, both with missing lid. China, Ming Dynasty period. The statue is mounted on a stand. height (without stand): 31,5 cm. A few missing parts at the lower side of the base and at the back of the head, with no real damage to the general aspect of the statue, otherwise very good condition.

Small figurine representing Kuan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, in formal attire and wearing elaborate diadem and necklaces, sitting cross-legged on an elevated throne around which reclining lions are showing. Bronze, with dark reddish-green patina. China, Northern Wei or Sui Dynasty. Height: 2 3/4" (7 cm). Strong erosion due to great age, right hand partly chipped (old accident) otherwise good condition. An extremely rare object.

Statue of Xuan Wu, or Zhen Wu, God of the North, in formal attire, sitting on a throne, with his two attributes, the snake and the tortoise. Wood with polychrome painting. China, 19th century Height: 13" (32,5 cm). Colors partly chipped, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: Xuan Wu is one of the highest ranking Taoist deities.

Statue of Buddha Sakyamuni, in monk's robes, sitting cross-legged on a double lotus throne, his hands in bhumisparsa mudra. Cast iron. China, Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 A.D.). Height: 23 cm. Old accident at the back of the statue (see photos), strong oxydation due to great age, otherwise good condition. A rather rare piece

Porcelain vase of bulbous body and elongated neck, with a hand painted decor in blue over a white background representing a phoenix in clouds. China, Qing Dynasty, early 19th century or earlier. Height: 18,4 cm. Tiny chips around the rim and base, otherwise very good condition.

Porcelain cup with curved sides, with a hand painted blue decor on a white background representing a landscape showing on the left side a rocky lakeshore with two old men sitting under a gnarled tree, and the right side a fisherman rowing on a boat. Above the scenery, a four line inscription. Two character mark beneath. The rim is protected by a bronze circle, but this is not meant to hide any blemish. China, Qing Dynasty. Height: 3,3 cm. Diameter: 11,4 cm. Very good condition.

Cigarette holder made of ivory nicely carved in relief to represent a dragon chasing the pearl in the middle of clouds. Both tips are made of silver. China, early 20th century. Length: 9,8 cm. Obvious signs of use and wear, otherwise very good condition.

Ceramic bowl of classical shape, with a nice celadon color. China, Qing Dynasty or earlier. Height: 6,7 cm. Diameter: 14,2 cm. Erosion around the rim due to age with some flaking in a small area, likewise around the base, old accident with an old restoration, otherwise good condition.

Death mask, made from a thin bronze sheet subtly formed as a man's broad face, chased with eyes, a nose, mouth and rounded cheeks, as well as a mustache. Tiny attachment hole on each side of the top (one missing). Fine slightly encrusted green, blue and red patina. China, Liao Dynasty (907-1125). Height: 18,5 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. A few small areas missing, tiny hole on the nose, otherwise good condition...

Long temple banner, also called "bridge painting" hand painted on paper representing Taoist deities in all sorts of situations. A stick is affixed on both ends. China, mid 19th century, Yao ethnic group, south-west China. Length: 4.12 m. A few restorations and losses, otherwise good condition.

Belt hook nicely carved in the shape of a dragon. Light green jade. China, 19th century or earlier. Length: 9,2 cm. Remnants of soil encrustations suggesting a rather long stay underground, otherwise very good condition.
